Where We Begin
MUSICAL NOTATION
Time signatures. Reading skills, basic and advanced. All the fundamentals for a good foundation. This is especially empowering for the artist who plays by ear.
PROPER BREATHING, BODY AND HANDS POSTURE, LIPS AND TONGUE POSITION
Develop the proper breathing process to enable a signature sound. Definition of the embouchure; the placement of your mouth and facial muscles are controlled differently for each woodwind.
This is crucial for emerging players and suggested for artists who have relaxed into old habits.
TRAIN MUSICAL EAR AND RHYTHM
Learning how to listen... until you truly hear.
Acquire a discriminative ear to intervals and rhythm with clarity and build certainty, confidence of timing, and phrasing in every piece you play.
This is imperative for the beginner and invigorating as a refresher course.
PLAYING BY NOTE
Cultivate the skill of translating the note you hear in your head to your instrument – and then learn how to shape it, play with it, and make it your own.

TESTIMONIALS
"Terry Anthony, my friend and colleague, is one of the finest musicians I know. I am a guitarist having played on numerous
films, television shows, records, shows and other live engagements. I had the pleasure of spending over twenty years with Terry on staff for Frank Sinatra Jr., performing around the globe as well as recording. In addition, Terry spent decades as 'first call' woodwind performer in Boston playing with many well known music stars and for numerous musical productions."
Jim Fox
"Terry Anthony has been a musical associate of mine for many years. We played side by side in the Frank Sinatra orchestra for decades. His woodwind playing is of the highest caliber. Terry's teaching of saxophone, flute and clarinet has produced some of the finest performers in the country."
- Mike Smith, lead alto with Frank Sinatra, Frank Sinatra Jr., Harry Connick, and Mark Tremonti.

Terry, what a treat and an honor to support your instructional musical site.
Having enjoyed your musical gift live on stage and in the recording studio, allow me to brag about your talent as a friend and as a recording producer.
My friend ship with you and Frank Sinatra Sr. (later Sinatra Jr.), has been a joy.
Over the years I have quietly picked the finest musicians for my studio dates.
I had the pleasure of producing, in some cases directing TV shoes, commercials etc with Paul Anka, Liza Minnelli, Bob Goulet, Bono of U2, Luciano Pavarotti, Frank Sinatra and Jr. etc, You were always among my selections, subject to your availability, as in the very successful musical production of Sinatra's double album Duets. (for which I still receive "royalties").
When Sinatra asked me to permanently become his production manager, I accepted.
It was that special! Over the years as we became closer and all his confidence in me became secure, I often did his show lineups, and often responded to his concerns about his pick of musicians. Sinatra, was world famous for his music and his choice of musicians. If you played for Frank, You were "The Top Of the Heap," Terry Anthony was that special! "The cream of the crop"!
